Scotland Builds a Sock Monkey the Size of a Building

Upi.com

An art student in Scotland decided the world needed a sock monkey big enough to blot out the sun. So she used nearly 200 feet of corduroy, stuffed it with 40 bales of straw, and stretched it to just under 50 feet long. Her father gently suggested it might be a world record, which is how many great ideas begin. It’s playful, a little absurd, and oddly charming, a reminder that not all big projects need a quarterly earnings call. The monkey now rests in her grandmother’s attic, which may be the most Scottish ending possible.

Florida Cow Takes a Field Trip to Publix

Upi.com

In Florida, where the news never naps, a cow wandered through traffic near a Publix grocery store as if shopping for deals. Police blocked roads while a cowboy on horseback roped the animal with calm efficiency. It ended without injury, and the cow was returned home, presumably with stories to tell. Why does this matter? Because even in 2026, sometimes the solution is still “find a guy with a horse.” You can’t make it up, and you don’t need to.
