The idea was to show how uneasy people feel about lifelike machines and the thin line of “ethics” holding it all together. Spectators watched the robot strain and flail, and somehow, many felt pity instead of fear. It’s a strange moment when a metal dog on a leash becomes a mirror for our future. Still, if robots are already stressing us out in art galleries, imagine what happens when they’re doing the laundry.

An American climber decided Taiwan’s tallest building looked like a fun Sunday activity, so he climbed it with no rope, no harness, and no backup plan. Alex Honnold scaled Taipei 101 while hundreds watched from below, likely holding their breath the entire time. He finished the climb, then calmly rappelled down as if this is normal behavior for grown adults. He said “time is finite,” which is true, especially when you’re dangling off a skyscraper. Most of us show urgency by answering emails faster, but sure, why not climb a 101 story tower.
