Thousands flock to West Virginia to honor a flying creature that may... or may not exist

Back in the ’60s, two couples swore a winged beast chased them through the backroads of West Virginia. Fast forward to today, and 20,000 believers, skeptics, and selfie takers gather yearly to celebrate the Mothman. There are costumes, conspiracy theories, and probably at least one person selling Mothman shaped funnel cakes. It’s part folklore, part carnival, and all proof that humans love a good mystery, especially one with wings.

Officers in Merced County pulled over a driver whose license plate looked…off. Turns out it was hand drawn with admirable attention to detail but zero legality. No word on whether crayons or Sharpies were involved. It’s a reminder that in the age of AI and 3D printing, some folks still prefer the personal touch even when committing a crime.
