Bank Alarm Goes Off. Suspect Has Hooves.

Police rushed to a Long Island bank expecting a burglary and instead found a deer trapped inside, having crashed through a window. The buck did what most of us would do in a strange building: panic, run around, and make a mess. Officers eventually lassoed the animal and guided it back outside, unharmed. No money was taken, unless you count the police department’s dad-level joke about the deer “looking for bucks.” File this under crimes of opportunity very furry opportunity.

A California nurse went in for surgery to remove a 22-pound ovarian cyst and learned she was about to give birth days before it happened. The baby had developed outside the womb, hidden by the cyst, in a case so rare doctors say it’s almost unheard of. Mom felt no kicks, had no symptoms, and assumed the growing belly was just the cyst acting up. The result: a healthy baby, stunned parents, and a reminder that the human body still has a few plot twists left. Even doctors occasionally have to stop and say, “Well… that’s new.”
